Sofia Goggia

She has everything to become an icon in skiing: On the slopes talent, technique and bravado (“I can’t do it any other way. That’s the Goggia style!”). Off-piste charisma, intellect and humour. Sofia Goggia is probably the most amazing phenomenon at the moment on the skiing World Cup circuit. And that’s not primarily because the 25 year old after her coming out as a world class athlete with 14 podium places in 2016/17 had an even more successful season with three wins, the small crystal globe and the Olympic Gold medal in downhill last winter. And the focus of the Italian Redster rocket isn’t always 100% on skiing. Sofia studied political science, loves literature (especially Konstantinos Kavafis‘ poetry “Journey to Ithaca”, crosses her fingers for the “Old lady” Juventus, who she shares her physiotherapist with. Now Sofia wants to become stronger with the help of Juventus world star Cristiano Ronaldo. “I've watched him carefully. And can learn lots of things from him.”
