Marcel Hirscher

Six years of Hirscher era were followed by six weeks of plaster. After his broken ankle people were trying to write him off: “Well every series always ends at some point.” But the calls to write him off only made Marcel stronger. Not even a broken ankle is a broken leg for him. The opposite: injury and a forced break saved the best skier from the best questions about his favourite role and whether he could carry on to dominate. He could. And how! The best skier of all times was barely back on track, he was really back, with or without a training deficit or pain. He raced the season of his life, with a double Olympic Gold in Pyeongchang the very last piece of the puzzle fell into place in his glittering career. And now he’s got everything: With 7 large and 10 small crystal globes his own crystal world, with 6 World Cup Golds and 3 Silvers respectable precious metal reserves. New luck in slow motion: In summer he got married to Laura on Ibiza and this coming winter he’ll be starting the season as a dad, which will only whet his appetite for victory.
